Mordialloc Theatre Company and coronavirus (COVID-19)

Friday 3rd April

Dear Friends and Members of Mordialloc Theatre Company,

We hope you are all keeping well during this current health crisis.

It is with great regret that the Board of Management has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2020 Season. The rapidly deteriorating situation with COVID-19 makes it highly unlikely that we will be able to present any of the remaining plays in 2020. It seems unfair to our loyal subscribers and members to be adopting a wait-and-see approach for each production.

The pandemic is still a few months away from peaking and there is bound to be a long “recovery” period afterwards. We don’t know how long that will take but it is unlikely that anything can be staged this year. We hope that 2021 will afford us a new start.

Members of the Board will be discussing the feasibility of moving the cancelled plays of Season 2020 into Season 2021. This will depend on a number of factors including the availability of the directors, actors and crew members who had committed to Season 2020. Rest assured that we will keep you informed.

So, what are your options if you have purchased a subscription for Season 2020?

Option 1:             Receive a refund

You will receive a full refund for plays 3, 4 and 5 of Season 2020 unless you choose one of the following two options before Friday 18th April.

Option 2:             Exchange for a show in the 2021 Season

As a yearly subscriber or VIP member, rather than requesting a refund for plays 3, 4 and 5, you may request a ‘credit’ towards your 2021 subscription. Accordingly, the cost of your tickets for these plays will be deducted from your 2021 subscription.

Please contact our ticket secretary on 9587 5141 if you wish to choose this option. We would deeply appreciate you maintaining your support of our company by choosing this option.

Option 3:             Finally,

Mordialloc Theatre Company relies heavily on ticket sales to ensure that we can continue to operate. The cancellation of performances has a huge impact on the organisation. If you are in a position to forgo all or part of a refund in order to support the company through this difficult period, this would also be greatly appreciated. Please inform our ticket secretary on 9587 5141 if you are able to do so.

We look forward to seeing you all again in 2021. In the meantime, take care, stay safe and look after each other.

Yearly VIP bookings (5 plays) $105.00

Groups (20 or more)  $22.00

Children  $22.00

All prices are inclusive of tea and coffee at interval and a free programme (one per couple).   Supper is provided on the first Friday and the last Saturday of the season. We are always happy to exchange tickets to another performance or even another show; however, we must have 24 hours notice.
